Lucky 13: A Bar and Grill (4.5 out of 5)

I don't know about you, but when I here the words "bar food," to me it usually means food that tastes amazingly fantastical.... if you're drunk. And not just the regular kind of drunk, I mean the cry-for no-reason, or throw-your-phone, or yell-incoherently kind of drunk (all of which we saw this night. And all from one person). Fortunately for our Taco Tuesday group, Lucky 13 manages to break away from this expectation with flying colors!
This has been a place that has been brought up a few times over the last couple of months as a place to go to, but it never quite made it out of the cutting room floor until tonight, and this visit left us wondering "why didn't we come here sooner?"
The most prominent part of coming here (food-wise) is for their gourmet-style burgers, all of which come on homemade buns, and all of which can come with a few different styles of fries. So come to a place where nobody knows your name and they don't know why you came and try the great food that we are gonna talk about this time:

Curtis

Allan: Curtis is not right next to me, but sitting close to me, and he is gonna tell us about his food this evening.
Curtis: Alright, so tonight I got an 'Ol Man Burger--which is really good. It came with jalapenos with swiss cheese on it. The swiss cheese was was really nicely melted on there, it was really, really good. Never been to Lucky 13 before, but I think if I'm around downtown in the middle of the day I may drop in and have another burger sometime. That's about it. This place is pretty nice, it's really nice to sit outside, especially on a good night like tonight. For a bar the atmosphere is actually not that bad--I like it a lot, it's really open. And I'd give it about 4 [tacos].

Kevin

Allan: (Intro music for Kevin) Hey, so this is Taco Tuesday Reviews, I'm here with Kevinator--
Kevin: (yes we are!)
Allan: --his nickname now. What did you get tonight for food?

Kevin: I got the Fungus Amongus with the Cajun fries.
Allan: Isn't that the name of a song?
Kevin: According to Matt and Curtis it's an album by Incubus? I believe?
Allan:  I wouldn't know. But you had the burger and not the album tonight, right?

Kevin: ....Yes.
Allan: Okay, okay, your pause was kind of worrisome. But how was your burger?
Kevin: It was the bomb, it was just really good. It grew on me, just like fungus!

Allan: I get it! Anything else that stood out that you wanted to talk about?
Kevin: So I've been here a few times before, but this is the first time I ever got the Cajun fries, and those are really good, I've never had them before. And the Fungus Amongus is awesome because they put lots of fresh delicious mushrooms that are awesome--yeah, It's just an all-around great burger.

Allan: Alright then uh, what kind of rating would you give your food tonight?
Kevin: I'd have to give it 5 tacos for sure.

([Addendum to audio recording: Kevin has in fact given two other 5 taco ratings to food he has had. Once at Asian Star (the first one), and once at The Pie Pizzeria])

Julia

Allan: (singing Julia intro music) We're with Julia for Taco Tuesday Reviews tonight. Julia what did we get--what did you get this evening?
Julia: I got the Fungus Amongus we came here once before, I tried it and I won't order anything else--even though everything is delicious off their menu, it's so good. The mushrooms are cooked in a red wine sauce and it's really flavorful.

Allan: What kind of mushrooms are they?
Julia: I don't know... they're fresh.
Allan: Are they portabella? Or are they like the regular, common--

Jolene: I think they're Criminis.

Allan: Alright, what she said. The foodie knows (Jolene).
Julia: It's delicious and I got regular fries, but I really like Kevin's Cajun fries--I think I'll do those next time. It's not spicy, [there's] just a little bit of flavor to it--it's really good.

Allan: Anything else that stood out that you wanted to share?
Julia: I'd give it 5 tacos, it's really good, that's about it.

Jolene

Allan: (Intro music for Jolene) Jolene is with me tonight for Taco Tuesday Reviews. Jolene, what food did perchance eat this evening?
Jolene: So I've had a lot of different stuff here, but today (I don't know why) I played it safe--I just got a Veggie Cheese Burger with regular 'ol fries and some Fried Pickle Spears. What I love about this place is that they have a million different burgers and they'll substitute a veggie burger on any of them. They're delicious, their fry sauce is awesome.

Allan: So what makes this a "Veggie Burger"? What does it constitute? What's in it?
Jolene: So it's usually made of--the veggie patty has chickpeas, vegetables, maybe some bread crumbs and it's all stuffed together and then they grill it--and I like their veggie burger because it's never soggy, they get like a nice, char on it so it has a good bite on it, so it's not just mush.

Allan: Good, good. Is there anything else that stood out about this veggie burger?
Jolene: I think just the texture really. Their bread is awesome as well--I don't know where they get it, but they have awesome buns. And then also if you're looking for a brunch spot, this place is awesome for brunch. They have an awesome patio, and it's always cool for Bees Games--you can watch the fireworks from here.

Allan: What kind of rating would you give your veggie burger tonight?
Jolene: I'm gonna give this one 4 tacos.

Matt Baugh

Allan: Matthew (whispers: what's your middle name?)--
Matt: Aaron
Allan: --Matthew Aaron Baugh, what food did you perchance eat this evening--also: (intro music for Matt Baugh). Food.

Matt: Well thank you very much for asking Allan. Tonight I got the Pigpen and the Pigpen is always delicious. I like meat on top of meat, with my meat. So it comes with burger, ham and bacon on cheese with cheddar--swiss. And I it also comes with caramelized onions, tomato and lettuce. First off it's delicious. Second of all it's probably the most unhealthy thing you can get on this menu. And I love the burgers at Lucky 13--it's delicious, they're always fresh and their fries are excellent.
My biggest grief with Lucky 13 is their service is always either short-staffed, or they just suck. So they're either not hiring enough people, or they're hiring too many crack addicts. Our server was excellent for the time that she could be here, she was very, very busy---there were only two servers for the entire night tonight. Her name is Serena, she is lovely. [The burger was a 5, but with the poor service I'm gonna have to average my rating out at 4 tacos]. I love Lucky 13, the weather today was perfect tonight, so it's been an excellent experience and I can't wait to come back. Thanks Allan!

Allan

Kevin: (Intro music for Allan) We're here with Allan this evening--Allan How're you doing?
Allan: I am doing quite well thank you. It's a nice evening out here, it's a little bit overcast, but you know it's actually very pleasant outside, considering it is the middle of August.

Kevin: So Allan, what'd you get?
Allan: I got the Celestial Burger here. What kind of caught my eye was the fact that they had caramelized onions, there was bacon there and a signature barbecue sauce which I was very curious to try out.

Kevin: How was the barbecue sauce?
Allan: Barbecue sauce was really good. And in fact the whole burger meshed together very well. The flavors combine in a unique and amazing way, they have homemade buns that these things come on and bacon and caramelized onions were falling out--there was just so much to it I almost couldn't take a bite out of it.

Kevin: Awesome. So what review would you give it?
Allan: I would give it--and the Cajun fries I got--5 tacos.
Kevin: My-oh-my you guys heard it here first: 5 tacos from Allan. (Outtro music)

Even though because Lucky 13 is still a bar, you'll need to be 21 or older to enter (they check ID's at the front entrance). But if you can find yourself a cozy spot out on the patio, and deal with the inevitable bad service, you will be rewarded with some of the best tasting gourmet burgers of your life! A couple to try out are the Fungus Amongus and the Celestial Burger. I feel like they sprinkle crack on their burgers, because they are the type that make you want to take another bite while you are still trying to chew your current bite. So pop on over to Lucky 13 and tell your taste buds: "Treat yo' self."

"HuHot: Mongolian Grill"

Think about, for most of us (mostly me) think about making a normal meal that includes anything other than a PB&J, corndogs, or leftovers, it's not really the putting-everything-together-part that is the real demoralizer--it's the cooking part. "Am I doing it right?" or "Do I really have to watch/stir/continually add stuff to this?" Here's where the beauty of HuHot comes into play. You grab a bowl, and go between the three self-serve stations which consist of:
1) Meats.
2) Vegetables.
3) and various sauces.

Then all you have to do is walk (or "wok" for you racists out there. Which, by the way you'd be wrong anyway, because there is no wok at HuHot!) over to the huge, open-to-the-public circular grill and they cook your food for you!

After you finish you can go back as many times as you would like, which technically makes this place a buffet. But the setup and ingredients that HuHot has to offer takes the quality up from a "Normal Buffet" (which has the same basic quality as most restaurant dumpsters), to at least a 4 1/2-Star Quality of Food. Since there is no absolutely pre-made food combinations, the problem with us rating HuHot is "what do we rate?" This time the ratings we give will reflect the overall experience we had with the quality of the food, so if you want some good suggestions on what to get (or what not to get), I recommend reading transcripts, or listening to the audio reviews.

Let's see what the group has to say about HuHot this week:

Curtis

Allan: Tonight I am here with Curtis at the HuHot Mongolian barbecue. It's kind of like a free-for-all here. It's an all-you-can-eat place where they make it for you if you pick the ingredients. So Curtis, what kind of favorite combinations did you find here?

Curtis: One of my favorte combinations would have to be the Chinese noodles with shrimp, water chestnuts, spinach, baby corn, maybe some mushrooms and probably top it all off with a little bit of the classic samurai teriyaki sauce--which I thought was pretty good, pretty sweet. And another thing that I really love is they have sweet chili sauce at every table, which is something that I lived off when I was in South-East Asia, and it really complemented everything. The soup was a little cold, which turned me off, but other than that I really liked my experience here today.

Allan: Alright, cool, is there anything else special you wanted to add....? Or did you want to rate your food?
Curtis: I would love to rate my overall experience here at HuHot. I'd give it 4 and a half tacos.

Allan

Curtis: (Mario-like opening theme music) This is Curtis with Taco Tuesday Reviews, joined here by Allan. Allan how was your experience here at HuHot today?

Allan: It was delicious, I got one of the recipes--one of the little booklets they have here at HuHot and kind of just made my own modifications to it. I mostly followed it fairly closely. I love the chicken and the pork, so I threw it in there. They have a great yakisoba noodles (I think is what it's called). And then for the sauces I added a couple ladles of "Khan's Favorite," a couple of "Samurai Teriyaki," a half of the "Kung-pow..yow," couple ladles of "Sherry,"--I'm assuming that's not alcoholic, but if it was it tasted delicious. And one ladle of the garlic oil.
I went back for a second time and got basically the same thing except I added a bit more spice to it, but it was a fantastic combination. The flavors went together well--just the right amount of spicy, just the right amount of flavor.

Curtis: Alright, sounds like you had a real good experience. What would you rate HuHot today?
Allan: I probably rate it a 5
Curtis: Alright folks, 5 out of 5. You heard it.

Jolene

Allan: (floating exotic sounding intro theme) With us, is, Jolene. Jolene, what type of combination of food did you get tonight here at HuHot?
Jolene: So the first plate I got was pad thai noodles with shrimp, broccoli, onions, bell pepper, and I did a lot of the hotter sauces. I think I realized I only like pad thai noodles with actual pad thai, and my broccoli on that plate wasn't totally cooked, it was pretty raw, but good flavors still. But my second plate was the favorite: I hade yakisoba noodles--they were tasty, with water chestnuts, onions, tons of mango, and sweet & sour and spicy sauces, and I liked that a lot.

Allan: I didn't even see mango up there, were there any other fruits up there?
Jolene: There was just mango and pineapple that I noticed. But very tasty.

Allan: Alright, and you liked your second combination the best, right?
Jolene: Yeah, I favor the second the best, it was sweet and spicy--it was a good combo. And the noodles were much better than the pad thai.

Allan: You know I really love those yakisoba noodles. I got those both times--definitely a good choice. Anyway, enough about me, how would you rate your overall food experience here at HuHot.
Jolene: When I heard we were going here I was a little apprehensive because I don't eat red meat, and I assumed that's all they had. But they had a variety of sea-foods, so that was nice. I would come back I think it's a really good idea. So I'm gonna give it 3 and a half tacos.

Kevin

Allan: (personalized theme song for Kevin) I'm here with Kevin today. Kevin, what combination--what was your favorite combination of food here at HuHot?
Kevin: I really like adding the pork, and the chicken, and the beef altogether and throwing some Chinese noodles on it, then peas and carrots. And most important of all: baby corn--baby corn is key to any Asian meal, because they're delicious. And then I like to get the sweet & sour sauce and some the not so sweet and sour, and some of the teriyaki sauce--you mix it together. And then some of the garlic chili to add a little bit of spice-that's really good. And then, you know, you throw some rice on it and BAM! Perfect.

Allan: Now speaking of baby corn, were you contaminating other people's plates with baby corn throughout the night?
Kevin: Marc likes to think that my baby corn may have fallen in his food, but I think he confused my baby corn for pineapple, and kind of screwed himself on that one.

Allan: Anyway, back on track: How would you rate your food experience here at HuHot?
Kevin: I'd have to rate it pretty high. The service was really good, our waiter was good about getting us drinks and stuff. The food was excellent. So I'd probably give it 4 and a half tacos

Marc

Allan: (intro theme for Marc) Marc what did you procure this night at HuHot?
Marc: Unlike Jolene and here weird ideas, red meat is the best! So I ate red meat--beef. That's all I ate. But then the first time my combination was yakisoba (*noodles*), and then I got some good broccoli, and other good stuff. And the sauces--the first time, were amazing.

Allan: Do you remember what sauces they were?
Marc: Yeah, I'm trying to think real quick. I had two and a half not-so sweet and sour, I had two Teriyaki and I had three-quarters Sweet Chili and it was amazing. The broccoli was done amazingly well. And then the second time I went back I got pretty much the same thing, but I put pineapple and lime juice in it--not a good idea, they didn't taste good. So I only ate half of it. And then I went back the third time and got a crap-load of beef, and I got some yakisoba with the Chinese noodles and then the same combination and it was amazing.

Allan: So Marc, with your overall experience here---
Marc: Five
Allan: --Marc gives it 5 tacos.

 Matt Baugh
With his eyes open in a photo!

Allan: (breaking news intro song for Matt feat. Allan and Kevin) With me is Matt Baugh tonight--you always have to say "Matt Baugh" when saying his full name. It's not just "Matt."--With me is Matt Baugh here at HuHot, and here he is going to talk about his food tonight. Matt Baugh, what kind of combinations of food did you get tonight, and what was your favorite?
Matt: Well so far it's been the yakisoba mixed with just about any other protein, and mixed with just about any sauce. I love the yakisoba noodle, it's a very, very good noodle

Allan: Yeah, I'd say it's probably-- if you had to compare it between an Italian noodle, it's like between a spaghetti noodle and like angel hair--it's not super thin, it's not super thick--it's this nice in-between.

Matt: It's a very delicious noodle, it's a good noodle. Kind of ramanee, but way not disgusting.
Allan: So what favorite combination did you have here?

Matt: So far I've liked the yakisoba noodle with the zucchini, and their sauce is just delicious and I like it with.... everything. I like the peanut sauce curry and I like to mix it with green curry. It's really good curry. And then they cook it for you and you put it on your plate and you take it back to your table and you get to eat it there with your friends. It creates a very delightful experience for everyone involved.

Allan: Oh, he thinks we're his friends, I really like that part of the review. So, Matt, before you take that bite, how would you rate your food tonight?
Matt: I'll give it 4 tacos.

Kira

Curtis: (Intro music--a cappella guitar solo?) Alright, this is Taco Tuesday Reviews, I'm Curtis, I'm here with Kira. Kira how was your experience today at HuHot?
Kira: My experience was good, it was really fun to create your own little stir fry dealio. The soup was arlight, but I didn't come here for soup. But I was pretty impressed with the selection they had, I just wished that they always had some shrimp on hand. But besides that it was really good.

Curtis: Nice. Anything stick out to you? And what would you rate it?
Kira: I think what stuck out to me was the different flavors of sauces they had, and the variety they had, but I don't have anything else to say about it.

Curtis: And your rating?
Kira: Oh, my rating. Ill give it 5. It was fun.
Curtis: Alright, 5 out of 5 ladies and gentlemen.

Miranda

Curtis (speaking for Miranda): Hi this is Curtis with Taco Tuesday Reviews. Unfortunately and sadly enough, Miranda couldn't make it to our interview at this time. But she did tell me it was very good. That is all. She'd probably rate it about 4 tacos.

Anthony

Curtis: (Slap bass with lyrics intro) Alright I am Curtis with Taco Tuesday Reviews, and this it Anthony Hernandez. Anthony, how was your experience today at HuHot?
Anthony: Well hey there Curtis, it was quite delightful. You know it always surprises me how good this place is, and the amazing combination of things they have. They had the numerical value of how many combinations you can make and it took up an entire flat-screen tv, it was right up there. [Googolians] of combinations.

Curtis: Googolians. Alright, anythign stick out to you tonight? And what would be your rating for HuHot?

Anthony: I just kind of stuck with a pretty simple dish: beef, noodles, some potatoes, some sausage slices--things like that. I had their Asian salad--a little too fruity for me. Meal was pretty good, I had it a second time with some fruit--like mango and pineapple on top--little too much for me, I'm not a big sweet, sweet pasta/chow mien guy. So that was pretty good--the appetizer was pretty good too, we had those wontons with crab and scallions insides--really, really good with sweet & sour sauce. So overall I'd probably rate it at about 4 tacos.

Josh
I've never seen Josh so
excited before!

Curtis: This is Curtis with Taco Tuesday Reviews, I'm joined here with Josh. Josh, how was your experience here at HuHot?
Josh: It was very good, I was very delighted with the way the food was and the choices that you had.

Curtis: Alright, anything stick out to you? And what would you rate your experience tonight?
Josh: I would rate it at 5 tacos because I like usually going to Chinese buffets and getting the Mongolian Grill, and this is what it is the whole time. I just wish they had more shrimp, that's all.

Emily

Curtis: Alright this is Curtis with Taco Tuesday Reviews, I'm here with Emily. Emily how was your overall experience today at HuHot?
Emily: It was really great.

Curtis: That's good. Did anything stick out to you about your choices, or any special ingredient you really liked?
Emily: No.

Curtis: No? Alright, so it was "great," but nothing really stood out. So what would you rate it? Out of 5 tacos what would you give it?
Emily: I would give 4 tacos.

Dallin

Curtis: (Intro breaking news music) Taco Tuesday Reviews with Curtis, I'm here with Danger Dallin (danger, danger). Dallin, what did you get tonight, and what was your experience overall here at HuHot?

Dallin: I got a lot of different things. First thing I got was a pad thai with their blend of pad thai sauces they suggest. I didn't really like it, plus the main flavor was just kind of bleh. So I abandoned the whole guided recipe thing and started just throwing sauces together and that's where it's at, really flavorful. My favorite is, just the Chinese noodles with sausage and chicken--the sausage is really good, it's my favorite. And started off with teriyaki sauce and then the Khan sauce, and I just throw a bunch of hot sauce in it, and that's where it's at, I like it, it's good stuff.

Curtis: So what would you rate your overall experience tonight?
Dallin: I'd say 4 out of 5.
Curtis: Alright, you heard it live from Danger Dallin (danger DANger).

So HuHot does have these little recipe cards you can use to create a meal, there were a couple of us that did that (and some of us even modified the recipe a bit to fit our taste. But if you know what particular tastes you have (more spicy, more sweet, etc...) then I wouldn't recommend using them. If you want to try the combinations of the highest rated reviewers, check out Josh, Kira, Marc and Allan's reviews. If you want some pointers from of our "foodies'" reviews, look at Matt Baugh and Jolene's. Whatever you decided on getting for the night, you should save room for this awesome idea, the little s'more tray:
It comes with a little bunsen burner with which to make s'mores at the table!!! It's like a fondue setup, but for s'mores! Anyway to sum it up: HuHot is a fantastic place to create your own meals without the hassle of cooking or cleaning up the dishes afterwards. So this week, our average review for HuHot is 4 and a half tacos.

"India House: Authentic Indian Cuisine" (Sandy)

This week we have two members of our group who could be considered "foodies" (aka: someone who eats a wide variety of food and usually has good taste): Matt and Jolene. In fact it was these two (and Curtis) that pushed the vote in favor of India House, and boy-oh-boy, it was a great choice! They have a flat bread that is called "Naan" and it goes really well with any of the curries here.

Now, it can be hard to try something new, let alone something new and foreign, and for a few of us this was definitely the case. Because when I think foreign, my mind goes to the extremes, like: barbecued dog, blood pie, boiled chicken feet. And even Indian food (the "from India," kind) can sometimes take on the look of mud, or the even-more-popular-look-that-your-food-should-never-resemble: baby poop (in several colors). But let me tell you, do not judge a book by it's cover. In fact, I won't just tell you, I'll let this weeks reviews do it for me! Take a look:

Curtis

Allan: Curtis is here today. Curtis, what did you get to eat tonight?
Curtis: I got the Rogan Josh with a side of Garlic Naan.

Allan: What is Rogan Josh? It sounds like you're eating a person.
Curtis: Well no, it's not Seth Rogen's half-brother, but it is actually a Lamb Curry dish. But they also threw a little coconut in there, which I actually thought it was really good.

Allan: Cool, what was your meal experience like? Was there anything that stood out? Tell us what your impressions were.
Curtis: I love the Naan. I'm a big fan of Naan, and every time I come I love it., can't get enough of it. One thing that really stood out was that the lamb was really good--it wasn't gamy, it wasn't tough, it was really easy to chew and it was really, really good.

Allan: I was going ot say that with lamb it usually is gamy or chewie, but awesome.

Curtis: Yeah it was really good. I think that was the highlight: it was the lamb. The lamb that they used was really good. And overall I think I'd give it 4 and a half tacos.

Jolene

Curtis: (Taco Tuesday a capella  intro music) Alright, this it Taco Tuesday Reviews, I'm Curtis and I'm here with Jolene. Jolene, what'd you get tonight?
Jolene: I got the Peshwari Naan--which is a sweet Naan. It has cashews golden raisins, honey, coconut, cinnamon, [and] a little sugar. And some would call it "savory," I enjoy it mixed with my curry, which is the vegetable Masala. I love tomato sauce of all kinds so this is my favorite to get, and I get it "hot"--which could have been a little hotter--but I understand they're trying to be safe.

Curtis: Alright, so "could have been a little hotter," but besides that, was there anything else that really stood out to you?
Jolene: I loved it, I love Indian food, and this is great. I love this place.

Curtis: Alright, and what would you give for India House this fine evening?
Jolene: Gonna go 4 and a half tacos.
Curtis: 4 and a half tacos from Jolene, thank you.

Matt Baugh

Curtis: (Sexy a capella sax intro music) Alright, welcome to Taco Tuesday Reviews, I'm Curtis and I'm here with Matt. Matt how are you tonight? What'd you get?

Matt: Well, thanks Curtis for that lovely intro I feel really appreciated and I'm glad to be here tonight. Tonight I had the Chicken Coconut Korma, which is a coconut based curry dish. It's sweeter than most Indian Curries--it's sweet because it comes with golden raisins and all that lovely stuff. I got it with the Garlic Naan because it's pretty much a staple if you ask me. And I also tried the sweet Naan that Jolene previously told me about because she said it was delicious, and some would even say... savory. And it went over well with the rice and the Chicken and Coconut Korma. Anyway that's it for me, I'm gonna have to give this place a 4 and a half tacos out of 5 tacos.

Curtis: Alright thank you very much Matt. You heard it folks two times in a row already: savory. Some might even say: sweet and savory.

Allan

Curtis: Hi, I'm Curtis from Taco Tuesday Reviews. You may remember me from such reviews as "Porcupine Grill," and "Tio's Restaurant." I'm joined today by one of my dear friends: Allan. How are you today?
Allan: Good. I'm a little disappointed I didn't get any intro music with mine, but I'll live.

Curtis: Well the jokes on you, because in the middle of review (BWAAaw!) Breaking news! Allan! What'd you get to eat?!
Allan: Well, this evening I got the Chicken Curry, also a Buttery Naan--apparently it's a flat bread they have here in India [House].
Curtis: Alright, Allan. Naan and Curry: how was it?

Allan: It was delicious--first time I'm actually having authentic-style Indian food tonight. I mixed in some rice with the Curry, most people did that at the table [from] what I saw, so I'm just kind of going along with the same thing too. But I put it in the flat bread and ate it like a taco, and it was delicious. I thought it was going to be spicier than it was, but it was hardly spicy at all--even for a "medium."

Curtis: Alright Allan, thank you so much--back to you Curtis ("Watcha bow yeeow"). So Allan, what do you give this out of 5 tacos?
Allan: I would have to give this place--especially for being my first time having Indian food--4 and a half tacos.

Kevin

Curtis: (Funky a capella guitar intro) Taco Tuesday Reviews with Curtis.... Hi everybody, this is Curtis for Taco Tuesday reviews and I'm joined here by Kevin. Kevin what'd you get tonight?

Kevin: I got the Saag Paneer and the Paneer Naan. You know, it was Indian food. Don't tell Matt, but Indian food's not my favorite. But you know, this is actually pretty good, I'd give it a 3 tacos I think.
Curtis: Thank you so much Kevin.

Julia

Curtis: Breaking Taco Tuesday Review news with Curtis going to the live news room with Julia. Julia, sorry for no intro music, breaking news happens fast--I gotta report it as I see it. How are you tonight, and what'd you get?

Julia: I'm doing wonderful, and I got the much-anticipated Chicken Curry as per well meaning help from everybody so I could pick something delicious--and it was! It was really good! I got it at a medium heat, so it was nice an flavorable--it wasn't too hot. And I tried some of the sweet flat bread-stuff (*editors note: it was the Peshwari Naan*). It was good.
Curtis: Alright you hear it. It was good and she liked everything and she does have to rate it. Hold on, let's go back to her. Julia, what would you rate it?
Julia: I'd give it 4 tacos.
Curtis: You heard it from Julia: 4 tacos.

And there we go folks. It seems that the pickin's are good at India House. The most common thing that we did was mix our curries with the rice and ate it with the various Naan (basically a flat bread) that we all ordered. If you want a savory meal, try getting the Peshwari Naan (a sweet Naan) and eating it with just about any other curry, If you want to start light try a Chicken Curry with a Buttery Naan. Basically when you order your food make sure to include Naan with it. I am unsure if rice automatically came with the meals or not, be sure to ask when you go, and go you should, because India House is an amazing place to expand your taste palate. And this weeks combined reviews gives India House a 4 out of 5 taco rating

If you wanted to take a sneak peak at what India House has to offer, look at there menu here.
